Fuel Senders & Heat Control Panels Antitrust Investigations

Freed Kanner London & Millen LLC is investigating allegations of anti-competitive conduct against suppliers of Fuel Senders and Heat Control Panels.

In January 2012, Yazaki Corporation and four of its executives agreed to plead guilty for their involvement in a criminal price-fixing and bid-rigging conspiracy in connection with the sale of Fuel Senders.

"Fuel Senders" measure the amount of fuel in a vehicle's fuel tank.

According to the felony charge, Yazaki illegally conspired, combined or contracted for the purpose and with the effect of fixing, raising, maintaining, and stabilizing the price of Fuel Senders at artificially inflated levels from 2004 through 2010. Yazaki agreed to pay a $470 million fine while four employees agreed to serve prison sentences ranging from fifteen months to two years.

Also in January 2012, Denso Corporation agreed to plead guilty and pay a $78 million fine for their involvement in a criminal price-fixing and bid-rigging conspiracy in connection with the sale of Heat Control Panels.

"Heat Control Panels" control the temperature of the interior environment of a vehicle.

According to the felony charge, Denso illegally conspired, combined or contracted for the purpose and with the effect of fixing, raising, maintaining, and stabilizing the prices of Heat Control Panels at artificially inflated prices from January 2000 through February 2010.
